And if by some chance you were locked inside, I know your mind drifted to those mid-summer days when we have legs and lungs that do what we want them to. Ahhh, summer days and a Stuesday Ride with Stu and Robbie. Carefree and wandering around the rolling hills of southern Wisconsin. Does it get much better? I think not.

So here’s an oldie but goodie video I did from a Stuesday Ride not too long ago, when the days were warmer and the grass much greener. Get on those trainers, get to the gym, spring is almost here. Enjoy.

Thats what I think of my new hat direct from Belgium and my good bud, Harm Job. I must be the first in the US to have a pro hat from the new Radio Shack, Nissan, Trek (that’s a lot of sponsors) Racing Team.

I have to tell you, this little $15 dollar mirror has saved me on many occasions and I never ride without it. Go geek and be safer.

I can see exactly where the cars are, I can push them out or brace myself if need be as they pass. I feel like I have more control of the road, and control equals safe riding.

You would never get into your car with out the three rear view mirrors you have, plus a camera in many cars. Treat yourself to the best fifteen dollar present you can ever get.

The weather guru’s forecasted for temps in the 50′s, sunshine and little wind. They got part of it right. So Gary, Isasio, Donald and myself took our bikes on the road for one last run up to Wilmot, WI.

The starting temp was 25F and got all the way up to 35F during our almost 40 mile trip. Who cares, we were on our bikes, dressed warm and stopping at the Wilmot Cafe for coffee and a snack. Which turned into breakfast, hey it’s cold, it makes you hungry.

Donald considers his options and decides on the eggs, sausage patties and toast, coffee of course.

Since Gary said he didn’t want to eat too much he went with the short stack of plate size blueberry pancakes. Worrying about those extra calories he skipped the maple syrup and just went with half pound of butter.

This nice young lady brought our food to the table, just like it happens at home!

I went light with two eggs over easy, bacon and an english muffin. WE all contemplated having an egg sandwich in honor of Al Duff who didn’t join us because it’s cold out, but we didn’t.

One of the best things in the Wilmot Cafe is the mens bathroom where you’re watched by some kind of a goat thing as you pee. Then while you wash your hands you can listen to Christmas tunes. Awesome stuff.

And if that didn’t make the perfect Last Ride of the Year, then Donald’s flat did. Thanks gents for taking the time to go out in the cold and have a few laughs. Looking forward to next year.

Many of you that were a part of the Veloist community can now follow us here or even better, ride with us. The Veloist Cycling Club is based in Lindenhurst, IL and we do most of our road riding in southern Wisconsin. Some of the best roads in the area are home to us.
