Weekend Rides June 30 and July 1

Saturday Ride 7AM roll

We would like to work on team pace lines and start bringing the ride average speed up. To do that we all need to work together and ride as one. The goal will be an 18mph average. That means pace lines at 19-21 keeping the surges down and thinking more about the group effort.

Also, it will be hot so we want to be as efficient as possible while riding. Bring lots of fluids. Expect under 3 hours in the saddle on a 50 mile ride. Let’s skip the hills and go for long and smooth tomorrow and get this group rolling as one.

Sunday Ride 7AM roll

This is a recovery ride 16mph average please join us for 25-35 miles of easy riding. No planned stops. Ride safe.

Last weekend Bike MS Ride

Here are a few pictures from me and Isasio’s ride last weekend.

Happy at the start.

Isasio’s favorite team.

On the FB again.

Crowded at the lunch stop.

I took this shot seconds before E dropped his phone.

Two hundred miles in two days, slap these on and you can ride again.

Ride Review May 5 and 6

Nice job to all that joined us for the Lake Geneva Hill Training ride on Saturday. Eight riders braved the hills. Not great weather but good enough to let us ride two laps around the lake. Total milage was 45 and we did the second lap slightly quicker than the first. Experience pays off. I don’t know if it will get us ready for the Arcadia Brute but I’m sure it didn’t hurt.

Sunday’s recovery ride was light and just three of us took part. The rain held off and we got a chance to shake out the legs. It’s getting warmer so I would expect to start seeing some more of you on the Sunday rides–summer is coming and you want to be ready.

Sorry no pics from Saturday, too busy trying to breathe on the uphills and hang on the down hills.

Get out and ride safe.

Easter Weekend Ride Review

Saturday couldn’t have been much better than it was for a spring ride. We had 11 riders for a 50 mile ride up to County N by way of newly paved County Q and the always great to ride on County MB. Good rotating pace line work and lots of short single pulls by all made the miles roll by quickly.

With a brief rest stop on the way back at the Forest Preserve on MB, Isasio got to nurse his hangover from the night before. He still thinks he can party till 2AM and ride at 8AM , you’re not that young anymore my friend.

Sunday morning was perfect for a short ride. Unfortunately I found myself alone in the parking lot until George came rolling in. We left together but quickly parted company as he went off looking for the BCLC and VCR rides coming up our way. I struck out for home and some gardening not wanting to put in as many miles as George. Saturday was hard for me.

Hope to see some of our missing faces next Sunday, it’s time to start your training.

Ride safe. m

Sunday Ride Review April 1

You had to be a fool to get up and go outside this morning. If the thunder and lighting didn’t scare you away the wet roads and cool temps should have.

Well, I guess John Valley and I are fools. We also found Al and Donald riding with BCLC so we hooked up with that pack of fools.

All-in-all, not a bad day, didn’t get too wet and got to visit with some friends. See you all next week.

Ride safe.
