Cycling Art on the road.

Practice makes perfect. Or at least better.

If you want to get better at something you practice. Want to ride your bike faster, train more. Want to be a better writer, write more. Want to go to the Tour de France and follow every day in a Motorhome whilst drawing pictures, ummm.

Putting on my twenty pound art backpack, getting on my bike and going out for a few hours every other day is the only way I know how to get ready for this adventure. It won’t make me faster on my bike but it might just help me get through the twenty-one stages of the TdF.

Along with riding and drawing, I’m walking with my art pack, something I don’t do enough of, walk that is. I spend far too much time sitting on my bike or in a chair in front of my computer (like now). So taking the two mile walk around the lake I live near has been helpful, not to mention very pleasant, a habit I may have to keep up with.

So as the time of my departure for the Tour de France draws ever closer, I will continue my homework of riding and drawing. Dealing with wind, rain and mosquitoes isn’t something I have to do in the studio but I do believe the extra effort of training will pay off for me as I follow the Tour de France for 21 Days of Cycling Art!
