My bike will take me anywhere but my pen can take me everywhere.
Beyond borders. Beyond physical limitations. A world of cycling imagination.
Winter is hard for a bicycle rider in the midwest. On social media I see pictures of happy cyclists from around the globe flirting about hither and yon in their “winter kit”. Toe booties and tights with a wind vest does not a winter kit make. Try ice covered roads, frozen winds and temperatures well below zero. Let’s see that smile now.
All I can say is I’m glad I can go anywhere I want when I put pen and brush to paper. If living here means I have to suffer three months of indoor cycling at least I’m lucky enough to occasionally float over the Eiffel Tower. Untethered from gravity, free as a bird. This is how I survive the winter months.
Or maybe I fancy group ride on a summer day, in my minds eye, warm winds at my back. Friends at my side.
Where ever I do venture its the freedom and love of cycling that takes me there and the power of an imagination that fuels the pedals, and the paint brush. Thanks for tagging along.
