Solitude | Valenti Original Art Print
Full immersion.
I ride my bike by myself but I am never alone. I am always surrounded by wonder. And the world of my imagination. The quiet of the snow falling is deafening. The steadiness of my breathing and the turn of the crank keep time. The squeak of the snow under my tires tells me its cold but I don’t feel it. My world is most full when it is empty.
“Solitude” is the third of my large landscape paintings. It is 72×48 inches acrylic on canvas and makes you just want to go outside and ride. To find your happy place on a bicycle. To find your piece of perfection that makes you love what you do, who you are and where you live. I know how you feel, I’m just like you. The work you do on a bicycle is a work of love, there is no pain only full immersion into the landscape, into the world you are living in.

The start of something big.
This 50-foot tall steel sculpture, The Chicago Picasso, is the starting point for “Critical Mass” bike ride through Chicago every month. Creating awareness for alternative transportation efforts. And was my inspiration for this Limited Edition “Bicasso.”
The Chicago Picasso is an untitled monumental sculpture by Pablo Picasso in Daley Plaza in Chicago, Illinois. The Picasso “precipitated an aesthetic shift in civic and urban planning, broadening the idea of public art beyond the commemorative.” -circa 1967

Tuscan Red | Valenti Original Art Print
A cycling dreamscape.
I ache still for the Tuscan landscape. For the rolling hills and gentle valleys of wild grasses and cypress. Where Medieval towers touch the clouds that hang low on the horizon. Tuscany is a cycling dreamscape, a mind blowing visually arresting wonderland. A playground overflowing with significant historic cycling legend. I long to be back again. -Valenti
“Tuscan Red” is the second of three large horizontal landscapes I’ve recently painted. I’ve called this and the others, departures from my usual approach to cycling images. New work that has a feeling of a real place, but also a graphic quality and simplicity aimed at creating an emotional connection with the landscape.
I could say this painting is about the classic Strade Bianche, but it’s not. It’s about the place it passes through. It’s about a landscape that has captured the hearts and imaginations of cycling fans for over one hundred years. It is about a place where legends have ridden and will continue to ride for many more years. It is a magical world of cycling purity with white roads and perfect clouds that seem to touch the very land they sit above.

Ride by the lake | Valenti Original Art Print
Free to roam.
“Ride by the lake” is my happy place. Cycling is all about freedom and nature for me. Rolling around at my speed, exploring, enjoying and feeling alive. I always have a plan and most days it gets changed, I’m happy to explore, I’m happy to find new trails and roads. I’m still amazed I can find new places to ride even though I’ve lived here almost twenty years. That’s a lot of bike rides. That’s a lot of happy.
“Ride by the lake” is not an actual place but a vision of a perfect place. Open grassy fields with easy rolling hills giving way to a little lake surrounded by woods. Wait a minute, it is a real place, it’s where I live. Heavy use of applied paints help give this painting a unique texture and unexpected little details as you get closer. Simple, bold and with a rich muted color making this print a very special gift for yourself or someone you know.

Recon | Valenti Original Art Print
Seasons change.
I have always been a big fan of cyclocross, and an even bigger fan of riding alone in the woods. So to say the change of seasons from road cycling to cyclocross is important to me would be an understatement.
This new painting – “Recon” was a departure of sorts for me. First given it’s size, it’s much larger than I usually work. 72×48 inches is a full sofa size painting. And it’s horizontal. While being horizontal doesn’t sound like it should be a departure, it is for me. Of the hundreds of posters, paintings and drawings I’ve done over the past ten years the horizontal orientation doesn’t show up very often. Vertical is my most comfortable space.
So here we are with a departure, a new painting on new ground. A large landscape of brightly colored trees on an autumn day with a cyclist riding through the painting. Wild stuff indeed. And if you’re still not convinced its a departure for my work, the painting attempts to portray a real moment, an actual event – a scene of a lone cyclocross rider taking a recon lap before a race. In the Belgian national jersey, a favorite.
“Recon” the original painting has already been sold, it was bought before it even got off the easel. But I’m happy to say the prints are available.

Pavé | Watercolor Bicycling Art Print
This Valenti Watercolor Bicycling Art Print was created to celebrate the Spring Classics like Paris-Roubaix held on cobbles every year. It is available here without text.
The Pavé (Cobblestones), make up a vital part of the Paris-Roubaix race route. With stones as large as “baby heads” according to the Belgians, these brutal, rural roads just eat bicycles, wheels and riders. Saved from the horrible fate of being smoothed over with asphalt, the pavé are here to stay.
Paris-Roubaix just wouldn’t be the same without the stones. This print was made from an original watercolor painting.

With the first three days of the Vuelta starting in the Netherlands and finishing in Spain, this was the inspiration behind my Vuelta Red Bull and Windmill watercolor bicycling poster. The big red bull chases the peloton tilting at windmills as he goes. Bright, emotional, exciting are the words to describe the Vuelta and this print.

Vuelta 2025 | Watercolor Bicycling Art Print | Valenti
Hard charging.
Vuelta 2025 | Running from 23 August to 14 September 2025, La Vuelta 25 will be made up of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of 3151 kilometers. Starting in Turin, Italy and finishing in Madrid, Spain.
Traditionally known as a grand tour that favors the strongest climbers, it is always filled with dramatic and exciting stages. It’s this wild energy and untamed spirit that has inspired Michael Valenti’s artistic interpretation of a matador cyclist.

MilanoSanremo | Watercolor Bicycling Art Print | Valenti
Cycling Monument
MilanoSanremo was first raced in 1907 as one of the five Cycling Monument races. It is the longest of all the monuments at 298 kilometers – that’s a whopping 185 miles! Being so early in the racing calendar it’s a tough race to be on form. But if you do make it over the Poggio, the final climb you’re able to sprint for victory on the sun drenched shores of the Ligurian Sea, a part of the Mediterranean.
“La Classicissima” – The Spring Classic is the longest professional one-day race in modern cycling.
