Time out!

After two weeks of racing we deserve a little R&R. Take a ride around Paris with a friend, uncork a Burgandy. When you live in my fantasy world anything is possible. So go easy on yourself and rest up for the hardest week of the Tour de France yet to come. Vive le Tour!

This work was created by drawing with pen and ink, then finishing with watercolors.

This work is also available as an 18×24 inch print.

A new leader.

The Pyrenees set an exciting stage for the Tour this year, and watching Primoz Roglic climb out of the mist on the Col de Marie Blanque was a treat. Grabbing points along the way and the Yellow Jersey with them. Vive le Tour!

Cosnefroy the French KOM

While the hopes for a French Yellow Jersey winner slipped off the back of the peloton, at least AG2R La Mondiale is putting on a good show. With Benoit Cosnefroy in the KOM Jersey and Stage 8 winner Nans Peters riding high in the Pyrenees.

Strongest man in the peloton!

Wout Van Aert has been ripping up the roads this entire season and it looks like he’s come to the Tour de France to do the same. As a strong man supporting Primoz Roglic, as a GC contender there looks to be no stopping him.

The cycling world on its head.

The 2020 Covid-19 pandemic has hammered the planet in ways that have been unimaginable – it has also weighed heavily on the cycling world. With the cancellations and moving of so many local and World Tour events we’ve never seen anything like this before.

So I’ve turned the iconic symbol of France on it’s head, The Cycling World is Upside Down.

This painting was a labor of love to be sure, there are three other versions under the final painting as I looked for the perfect image to capture the chaos in the world today. For me this work represents a symbolic milestone as I continue to look for images that have greater impact on the viewer.

I think for the right owner of this painting it will carry strong memories of a world in distress and the power of the human spirit to find a way to move forward.
