This print is a copy of the original “Tour de France Dreams” ink and wash drawing. The original was a concept art drawing that proved very popular. So much so that I was compelled to create it as a digital print. It may at some point also become a digital drawing, we’ll see on that.
It comes in just one size, 18×24 and is printed on the same heavyweight watercolor paper as all my prints. Very nice paper for framing.
This year the 2016 Tour de France will start in the shadow of Mont Saint Michel as it travels around the country for the month of July. This dramatic backdrop has been host to other Tour race days and no doubt will offer us breathtaking vistas of the peloton racing away from this historic location.
My vintage flavored drawing of this poster uses the Red, White and Blue of the French flag along with the “Maillot Jaune” – Yellow Jersey. Complete with goggles, a spare tire and of course a handlebar mustache our cyclist represents the romantic era of the Tour de France classic days of cycling.
This cycling art print comes in three sizes on high quality watercolor paper and will be rolled and shipped to you ready for framing.
We love cyclocross — its up close and personal. It’s loud, hard and fast. Cyclocross is about power and smarts, but mostly it’s about pain and hard work. Frozen, wet, covered in mud and tired we ride on to finish. We ride on to win.
This is my interpretation of how every rider we pass or that passes us – sticks with us. As we revel in the glory and the mud, and as we push ourselves outside the comfort zone.
Liege–Bastogne–Liege — also known as “La Doyenne” — is the oldest of the classic races. This bicycle poster celebrates the legendary route that makes its way through the Ardennes region for a grueling 160 mile spring classic torture fest.
The famed climb to the summit of Mont Ventoux has been a part of the Tour de France since the beginning, and featured again in 2013 for the 100th edition of the race. Known as the infamous “Moonscape,” Michael’s cycling poster commemorated the return of the classic climb to the centennial edition of the tour.
Since 1993 Dieter “Didi” Senft has been showing up to key stages of the Tour de France and pushing his champions onward. Dressed in his famous devil costume, Didi is known as “El Diablo.” Any fan of the tour has seen Didi in action and will again, and this bicycle print is an homage to his devilish antics on the sidelines.
The 2013 Tour de France celebrated the anniversary of the 100th edition of the famed race. Starting in Corsica on June 29 and winding its way around the French mainland, riders arrived in Paris on July 21.
The art in this cycling poster features riders of the tour circling the Eiffel Tower and was originally designed for Velo Magazine’sTour de France Issue 2013.
