The Saeco Cycling Team, was famous for the most wildly dynamic and entertaining Mario Cipollini, so I’ve just combined him with caffé!

Always at the front of the peloton, in a muscle skin suit or screaming bright colors, Cipo craved the spotlight, so why not as a cup of coffee. My world, my rules.

Share the Love Bicycle Poster

Cycling Art Print

This art was originally created to help raise funds for Midwest Bike Share program, a not-for-profit organization bringing an inexpensive bike sharing program to the greater Milwaukee area.

The idea behind the image was inspired by the name, Bike Share. One of Michael’s very first concept sketches for this project turned out to be the winning design. Sometimes the most simple idea is the best one.

Tour de France 1903 | Valenti | Original Cycling Art

La Grande Boucle!

Tour de France 1903 was the first time this iconic race took place. A brutally difficult loop around France to help promote L’Auto magazine before it became the now modern version L’Équipe. Still making trips around France the race is the largest rolling billboard for sponsors in the world – and you can watch it for free on the side of the road. Vive le Tour!

This original painting was created on a 40×60 inch canvas with acrylic paints. Layered to create a textured finish and designed to have a sense of the golden poster age, with a modern flair.

Ewald Barn | Grayslake, IL – I spend a lot of time riding past great old barns near my home in northern Illinois. I always say, “I should paint that barn” – so I did. Big old barns are fun to explore, but be sure to ask permission first.

Pearson | Cycling Art Print

Pearson Cycling is the oldest bicycle business in the world. Established in 1860 by Thomas Pearson and is still in the capable hands of the Pearson family. The shop has two locations, the original cycle shop is in Sutton, with a newer shop in Sheen, London.

My approach to this cycling art was a bit different than what I might usually do mostly because it gave me the opportunity to draw a Penny Farthing. I also created a “P” shape on the rider to make a nice connection back to the Pearson logo.

In my world.

Barn Shadow – I live in Lake County, Illinois, which is next to McHenry County, Illinois and it’s all just south of the Wisconsin border – so we have lots of barns. Lots of great old barns and I just have to make a bigger effort to paint more of them.
