Rapha Chicago City Cycling Guide
If you’re a big fan of Rapha like I am then you’ve probably seen their City Cycling Guides published by Thames & Hudson. Of course they have all the cool cities in Europe like London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, Antwerp & Ghent and Copenhagen.
But now they’ve added some of the biggest cycling cities in the U.S. – New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.
And I’m excited to say that I’ve joined the ranks of some very accomplished illustrators when Thames & Hudson asked me to do the artwork for the Rapha Chicago City Cycling Guide.
The Chicago City Cycling Guide was written by local Chicago writer and cyclist Greg Borzo. Greg did a great job as he takes us on a ride though and around the Chicago area in great detail about local beer, food and bike shops worth a visit.
My little drawings help guide the reader through the neighborhoods in a less than “traditional” way. I’m not sure Rapha was expecting cycling giraffes in the Lincoln Park zoo, but that’s what they got and I was very excited they let me do my thing without a heavy hand on the work.
With local maps and details of places to check out, I’d suggest you pick one up for any city you might be traveling to — it can’t hurt and it might even be a good thing to know where you can get the best coffee in town. Or see a cycling Picasso.
