Ride Across Wisconsin presented by the Wisconsin Bike Federation was absolutely a blast. But I didn’t ride – I drew pictures!
From the start in Dubuque, IA to the finish in Kenosha, WI (Veloist CC stomping grounds) the day was full of great friends, great roads and great memories.
One of my first drawings for the day was “Cheese Wheels” a new concept bike. I had to draw this one.
Of course the day was filled with great roads, hills and valleys, which is why “Wisconsin Rollers” was a must to put on paper. This drawing is already sold!
Pro Cycling Team Trek – Segafredo was present for all the fun. With Frank Schleck and Ryder Hesjedal making appearances on the open road with the riders. I didn’t actually see the Team car with espresso but you know it was there.
And then there was Jens Voigt. What more can you say about this generous and genuine man, he was as nice as you think he is. I got my photo taken with him and talked for a few minutes, he would have gone longer but I didn’t want it to get too weird and all, you know.
But he did sign my drawing and it’s going to be for sale through my Facebook page, let the bidding begin!
Thanks to Dave Schlabowske and his amazing crew at the Wisconsin Bike Fed for a very, very memorable day. I can’t wait to do it again next year.
All of the drawings you see here and more will be available for sale on my Facebook page. So pay attention and don’t miss out!
