Not every ride is the perfect ride, while many are close, they also usually lack one thing or another. What made this the perfect ride wasn’t just the amazing location, or the great friends getting together, or the weather, the roads or the new people that joined us — it was all of it.
Riding is all about connecting with people, places and the elements you have to deal with. In our case on this very special day in Wisconsin everything came together. From weather, roads and riders.
Isassio and his GPS led us on a series of new and interesting, challenging roads. From long winding rollers in the middle of Wisconsin farmlands to the rise and fall of the Kettle Moraine hills and valleys that make up the amazing southern Wisconsin landscape. He and Andrew never faltered and never failed to keep us at a good pace given the route. Chapeau.
The group stayed together even though there was a difference in fitness and ability, especially in the more hilly sections. New riders to the group Dan and Dianne dug deep to keep up and never gave in, even on the toughest hills.
As rides go, this will have to rank pretty high on the scale with great roads, good weather although a cold start and most importantly, great riding mates, which makes it all worth the effort.
Ride safe.
