You know what I’m talking about. You most likely have them too: the “Tour de France Blues”. And that’s what inspired my latest Cycling Art pen and ink drawing.
After waiting for what seemed like an eternity – the most wonderful 21 days of the year finally arrived. I was glued to my TV at night and my laptop during the day, admit it you were too.
We just loved hearing Paul Sherwen say “A-L-U-M-I-N-U-M” like only he can.
We love it when Phil Liggett says “He’s dancing on the pedals” and he says it every year at least three times, but I don’t care, I need to hear it. And you don’t care either, you’re a Tour de France junkie. Say it, “I’m a Tour de France junkie”, now don’t you feel better.
So when it’s over, when the circus leaves town and the last balloons float away, it’s okay to be sad, a little blue. You’ve earned it with your dedication and devotion to all things TdF.
Well cheer up my friends — there’s sunlight behind that dark cloud.
The Vuelta is just weeks away and it’s almost Cyclocross season. Oh man, the mud, the cowbells – the beer! We have so much to look forward to my hand hurts thinking of all the Cycling Art I have to draw. I can’t wait.
I’m happy to say, this art has been sold. Watch for more of my drawings and if you love one, get it quick most don’t last long. m
