I don’t know about you all but for me winter is a time to get off the bike for a month and spend more time in the gym. Not that I think it’s that productive, it’s just a change and they say change is good.
I do try and watch my weight, somewhat. I do core work and leg work, lunges, jumps, squats–all the required cyclist exercises but it’s not the same as riding. It never has been as much fun or as freeing as throwing my leg over a saddle and rolling away for a three hour ride. Cranking up a hill or trying to hang on to the back of a group has and always will be my favorite exercise.
Correction, I don’t mean exercise, I mean cycling has and always will be my favorite anything.
