Tour de France 1903 was the first time this iconic race took place. A brutally difficult loop around France to help promote L’Auto magazine before it became the now modern version L’Équipe. Still making trips around France the race is the largest rolling billboard for sponsors in the world – and you can watch it for free on the side of the road. Vive le Tour!
This original painting was created on a 40×60 inch canvas with acrylic paints. Layered to create a textured finish and designed to have a sense of the golden poster age, with a modern flair.

Free to roam.
“Ride by the lake” is my happy place. Cycling is all about freedom and nature for me. Rolling around at my speed, exploring, enjoying and feeling alive. I always have a plan and most days it gets changed, I’m happy to explore, I’m happy to find new trails and roads. I’m still amazed I can find new places to ride even though I’ve lived here almost twenty years. That’s a lot of bike rides. That’s a lot of happy.
“Ride by the lake” is not an actual place but a vision of a perfect place. Open grassy fields with easy rolling hills giving way to a little lake surrounded by woods. Wait a minute, it is a real place, it’s where I live. Heavy use of applied paints help give this painting a unique texture and unexpected little details as you get closer. At a distance the work is simple, bold and has a rich muted color making it a perfect choice for a grown-ups home or office if you know one.

Belgian Rain | Valenti | Original Cycling Art
Classic Belgian color.
Belgian Rain is just one more way for me to express my love of all cycling things Belgian. From the cobbles, the bergs, the classics, the beer, the riders. And especially the classic Belgian colors. Black, Yellow, Red and light Blue the colors of the Belgian national jersey. One of my most favorite iconic jerseys.
The painting is obviously very bold in color and paint texture looking very simple from a distance and more intricate and detailed as you get closer. If you’re looking for a big bang of color and a way to enjoy your love of cycling everyday, this is your painting.

Solitude | Valenti | Original Cycling Art
Full immersion.
I ride my bike by myself but I am never alone. I am always surrounded by wonder. And the world of my imagination. The quiet of the snow falling is deafening. The steadiness of my breathing and the turn of the crank keep time. The squeak of the snow under my tires tells me its cold but I don’t feel it. My world is most full when it is empty.
“Solitude” is the third of my large landscape paintings. It is 72×48 inches acrylic on canvas and makes you just want to go outside and ride. To find your happy place on a bicycle. To find your piece of perfection that makes you love what you do, who you are and where you live. I know how you feel, I’m just like you. The work you do on a bicycle is a work of love, there is no pain only full immersion into the landscape, into the world you are living in.

Madonna del Ghisallo | Valenti | Original Cycling Art
The spiritual home of cycling.
I’ve stood in the shadow of the chapel Madonna del Ghisallo in Italy and cried when they rang the bells as the riders in the 2019 Giro d’Italia raced up the climb. A very, very special painting for me to share. A very, very special place in my heart and the heart of so many.
As with all of my work I’ve taken liberties with the reality of a situation, in this case I’ve endeavored to capture the spirits of the past cycling decades with floating cyclists forever riding the winds. The facade of the chapel doesn’t have the Italian flag, it should. And for me the heart of the chapel is the Bianchi Celeste Green bell in the tower. I hope you enjoy the work.
The trim edge of the painting can be painted white or black as you wish.

Cipo? Is that you?
The Saeco Cycling Team, was famous for the most wildly dynamic and entertaining Mario Cipollini, so I’ve just combined him with caffé!
Always at the front of the peloton, in a muscle skin suit or screaming bright colors, Cipo craved the spotlight, so why not as a cup of coffee. My world, my rules.
